The Amur Tiger is the largest living cat in the world. It differs from its brother the Bengal Tiger, Amur Tiger is bigger and stronger and has different character. Its hair is very thick and long up to 5 centimeters. This keeps the animal warm during inclement Far Eastern winters. In past, these tigers lived from the lake Baikal to the northern China. Now, about 200-300 animals live among Amur River and in the national parks of the Far East of Russia. They dwell in woody and rocky area. The most of tigers live now on the territory of Sikhote-Alinskiy Sanctuary.
